As of 2020, the countries with the highest contribution to the world economy in palm oil production are Indonesia (58%), Malaysia (26%), Thailand (4%), Colombia (2%), and Nigeria (1%), respectively. When the data of the last 5 years is analyzed, it is seen that Indonesia is also the first in palm oil export in worldwide, followed by Malaysia, Guatemala, and Colombia.
Oils which are suitable for human consumption include sunflower, canola, soybean, cottonseed, groundnut, linseed, sesame, and moringa oils. The chemical composition of these oils as well as their content of specific functional components have been summarized and compared.
